Most repairs are completed within a week; however, the length of time may vary depending on condition of the instrument and type of work required. Emergency repairs are possible, and in some cases your instrument may be repaired in the same business day you bring it in!

If you are in need of a loaner during the time your instrument is in our shop for repair, we usually have one available.

(If you rent your instrument from us, your rental agreement includes a maintenance policy that covers accidental damage or general repair. [NOTE: cosmetic touch ups or negligent damage not covered. See Store for details.])

Clayton Wuensche

Clayton Wuensche grew up in Lexington, TX. He took an early interest in instrument engineering while a tuba player in the school band; his training began when his band teacher showed him the art and intricacy of instrument repair.

Clayton attended Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, IA, where he was formally trained in all aspects of band repair under the guidance of Rod Siljenberg. He has owned his own repair shop, as well as worked with several well-established repair technicians around the state of Texas, accruing a wider knowledge and experience base.

Clayton moved to the Brazos Valley in 1998 and has been with The String & Horn Shop, Inc. ever since, building the repair shop into one of the best repair shops in Central and Southeast Texas. Clayton gladly welcomes any repairs from the smallest adjustment to the semi-haul.
